The bureau is now tipping the mercury to reach a very pleasant 19 on both Monday and Tuesday before a return to more wintry conditions later in the week.
Saturday and Sunday were both beautiful blue days across the region with tops of 14 and 16 respectively, with sunny conditions throughout.
But cold overnight temperatures meant subzero temperatures on both days, with the mercury falling to a low of -0.4 degrees on Saturday and -2.1 on Sunday.
The bureau is predicting another frosty start to Monday and there is a strong chance of rain each day from Tuesday to Saturday.
Bathurst has received 34.4mm of rain at the official weather station at Bathurst Airport since the start of August – welcome relief after 6.4mm fell in July and 3.6mm in June for one of the dryest starts to winter on record.
