Inaugurated by Charles Sturt University Football Club (CSUFC) in 2016, $4,940.65 was raised from both player and club donations.
Abercrombie, Bathurst 75, Churches United, City Red Tops, Eglinton, Lithgow Workies, Macquarie, Mudgee Wolves, Panorama and the Orange District Referees Association all made donations.
Further donations are still to come, in the following days, which means the tally is expected to reach well over $5,000.
CSUFC president Meaghan Kempson said it was amazing to see the generosity of the Bathurst community.
“Everyone was willing to give. Every CSU player donated $10 each,” she said.
“We turned the day into a tournament.
“There was a lot of engagement from the BDF [Bathurst District Football] and Grant Forster [BDF treasurer] played a big part in promoting the day.”
Points were awarded to CSUFC and its opponents on the day, with the BDF scoring an 11-9 victory.
