Anthony Dennis Cochrane, 60, of Landseer Street in Raglan, appeared in person and unrepresented before magistrate Michael Allen earlier this month.
Police facts tendered to the court told how at 2.30pm on June 10, Cochrane was pulled over by police in Ashwood Drive for a random breath test.
The initial test returned a positive reading and Cochrane told police he had just finished a beer.
Police waited 15 minutes before conducting a second test which also returned a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Bathurst police station for a breath analysis which returned a mid-range reading of 0.083.
Cochrane told police he had consumed between three and five schooners of full strength beer between 11am and 2.15pm.
Mr Allen convicted Cochrane, fining him $400 and disqualifying him from driving for a period of six months.
References tendered to the court told that Cochrane was a hard worker.
