Now it is a very different story.
The five-year-old McArdle x Veras Atom mare will be chasing her fourth win in five starts for her The Lagoon trainer when she lines up at the Bathurst Paceway on Wednesday night.
The race she didn’t win was a runner-up finish in the Group 3 Go Girlfriend Series Final at Menangle.
Not bad considering she’d won just once in 46 starts on her home soil.
Steve Turnbull’s daughter Amanda Turnbull has been in the gig for all of Miss Vera Mac’s Australian runs and will have the job again on Wednesday in a heat of the Menangle Country Series.
She has drawn barrier five, but given her good gate speed still has the chance to lead.
Bathurst’s meeting commences at 5.06pm.
