The opening of this year’s award nominations coincides with the launch of an inaugural Grandparents Day Photography Competition and Mr Toole said the competition is a great opportunity to recognise the ways older people contribute.
“Turn the lens towards your older relatives and friends and show us what they mean to you,” he said.
Both initiatives aim to highlight the invaluable contribution of older people ahead of Grandparents Day on Sunday, October 29.
Minister for Ageing Tanya Davies said NSW Grandparents Day is a key initiative under the NSW Ageing Strategy.
More details about the Grandparents Day Photography Competition are available at www.grandparentsday.nsw.gov.au and entries close on September 1.
