But as it turns out, Moran is already an inspiration.
Fellow Western Zone star, Bathurst’s Lisa Griffith was at Cobram on Saturday evening when Moran was presented the Josh Hazlewood Medal.
Griffith, who won the NSW Country female cricketer of the year, spoke of her admiration for Moran.
“I am so proud of him, he's kind of never been that player who has played in Sydney, he's always just played in the country area,” she said.
“I think it is a real credit to him, that after all these years he’s kept plugging away and he's definitely getting the credit he deserves for that now.
“He's done a fantastic job.”
Moran shone for his state at the Australian Country Cricket Championships, his efforts including a stellar 146 against South Australia Country which featured six boundaries and eight sixes.
