WITH massive personal bests, state qualifying times and a haul of medals, members of the Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club have made an impressive start to the month.

A number of swimmers have added state qualifying times to their achievements and nearly all competitors have claimed new personal best times for their events.
This month members of the club have targeted the Nepean Aquatic Centre Short Course Qualifying Meet (August 6) and the Springwood Annual SC Qualifying Carnival (August 13).
There were also a number of swimmers competing at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre Swim Team 2017 SC Qualifying Meet (August 5) and the MSW SC Qualifying Meet (August 12).
Stand out swims came from Mitchell England (11-years-old), Oliver Hamer (8), Molly Mccrossin (14), Jacob Roffe (12), Lilliana Press (9), Cooper Stephen (8), Merecede Cornelius-Feltus (13), with all either achieving huge PB's, state qualifying times or top three placings.
At the Nepean meet Will Roffe and Logan Johnson took almost three seconds off their 50m freestyle PB’s while Emily Saint and Jeorgia Johnson improved their times in the girls 50m freestyle. Harrison Jenkins took an impressive 8.25 seconds off his 50m backstroke.
Tyler Johnson had a 7.52 PB in his 100m breaststroke. Sean Macfarlane (8.15 seconds off) and Zephir Valsain (7.10) had big PB’s in the 12&U 50m butterfly.
Cooper Stephen was second in the boys 12&U 100m free with a four second time improvement.
Brianna Urquhart took over two seconds off her 50m backstroke time and Bridget Warne a massive 9.88 sec off for the girls 200m breaststroke. Taylah Wade swam a fast 30.85 seconds for the 50m freestyle.
At the Springwood meet Emilee Curran had a great swim in the girls 400m Freestyle with a seven second PB while Austin Letran smashed his 100m backstroke time by 12.60 seconds.
McCrossin dominated her age group with six first places and three seconds in her nine events. Patrick O'Hara also placed first and second in his six events for the day.
Emily Press had five first places and a 8.52 second PB in her 400m free. Ben Roffe was equally impressive reducing his 400m free time by over 12 seconds.
Thomas Press flew in his 200m IM taking over six seconds off his time and placing third.
Four swimmers – Mccrossin, Ben Roffe, Cornelius-Feltus and Letran – are attending the NSW Speedo 13 and Over State Short Course Championships starting this Friday.
The club will have a relay team competing in the 13-15 years girls 4x50 metre freestyle relay consisting of Mccrossin, Press, Curran and Wade.
