A MAN will appear in Bathurst Local Court on Sunday charged with assaulting two police officers who were attempting to arrest him.

Police said officers attached to Traffic & Highway Patrol Command were patrolling Gormans Hill about 5.15pm on Saturday when they saw a 20-year-old man riding a bicycle along Gormans Hill Road.
When police recognised the man was wanted on an outstanding conviction warrant and attempted to arrest him, the man allegedly punched them.
The man was taken to Bathurst police station where he was charged with:
- Two counts of assaulting police.
- Two counts of resisting arrest.
- Breach of bail.
- Outstanding warrant of conviction.
The man was refused bail to appear in Bathurst Bail Court on Sunday. The officers were not seriously injured.
