LUKE Branighan has praised the work rate of his Oberon Tigers forwards in Sunday’s 20-16 Group 10 qualifying final victory over hosts Panthers.
Tigers gave away very little in defence through the middle of the park and the Oberon coach couldn’t have been prouder.
“Everything starts off the Panthers forwards. There’s Brent Seager, who’s one of the best players in the comp. They’ve also got two halves who run the football really well, so we just wanted to get bodies in front,” he said.
“In the previous encounters they’ve got over the top of us quite easily. We were quietly confident today and I felt like there was no pressure on us.
“Trent Rose had that bit of class today. He’s been down a little bit over the last couple of weeks, but it’s great to have a quality player like that.
“We brought him on after 20 minutes to take a bit of sting out of the game, and he did a good job.
“All the middle blokes were fantastic.”
