James, 12, will play halfback for the NSW Catholic Polding Schools side that is expected to perform strongly in the three-day state carnival.
The Year 6 student plays junior rugby for the Bathurst Rugby Club and had played for the successful Holy Family School rugby team in seven-a-side and 10-a-side-school based tournaments in 2017.
James was selected in the Polding team following trials at Forbes earlier this year.
“The state carnival brings together the very best from NSW government and non-government schools,” Holy Family principal Kevin Arrow said.
“James is a talented junior rugby player who works really hard on his game. He has been highly motivated from the Polding Catholic Schools trials.
“We wish James well in the state rugby at Salamander Bay.”
