Robert Nay was lying in an inner-city hospital bed when his thoughts turned to politics. In the fog of a sudden and frightening leukemia diagnosis, the 25-year-old lawyer dwelled on mortality and marriage; he held hands with Miguel, the man he loves; and he wrote to Malcolm Turnbull, the man standing in their way.
