The Saints will take on Mudgee in the preliminary final at Oberon, with the victor going on to meet Orange CYMS in the decider.
Last Sunday Pat’s suffered a 40-14 defeat at the hands of CYMS in the major semi-final – a result they are keen to make amends for.
But coach Mark Booth knows his players need to focus on beating the Dragons before plotting any grand final revenge.
“The mood is not too bad now, it was a little bit flat after the game, but they know it’s do or die now,” Booth said.
“We do want another crack at CYMS, but we have to get over Mudgee first. I watched them play Panthers the other day and they played pretty good.”
The first meeting between the pair this season saw the Dragons win 22-20, but the rematch on the Saints’ home turf saw Booth’s side prevail 28-10.
Booth is confident his side can replicate that latest success.
“They are pretty stable across the park actually. They have a pretty good back line, they are pretty strong there, but our back line should match them,” he said.
“I’m pretty confident we can win. There’s no tomorrow now, no more chances. I’ll have the full squad on Sunday, so there’ll be no excuses for us.”
Sunday’s match will commence at 11.30am in Oberon.
