Corey Ray William Blundell, 23, of Bonnor Street, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court.
Police facts tendered to the court revealed how the victim, a female bartender, was working at the Elephant and Castle Hotel on June 23 this year when she was informed Blundell was being aggressive towards a woman.
The victim approached Blundell and told him to leave, but Blundell walked away towards the rear of the licensed premises. The victim followed the accused and blocked the doorway to the rear beer garden.
She again informed him he was required to leave the premises and Blundell used both hands to grab the front of the victim’s shirt and push her towards the wall out of the way.
An unknown man saw the incident and took hold of Blundell and moved him away from the woman.
The man pushed Blundell against the wall, which resulted in the storeroom door being broken.
Security came and escorted Blundell from the premises.
The court heard Blundell was informed no less than five times by the security guard to leave the premises.
Each time he said “[expletive] off, I”m going to jail anyway” and refused to leave the front of the hotel. He also approached members of the public to come out and fight him on the footpath.
Police were called and when they arrived, Blundell was being ushered away from the hotel, but when he saw police he tried to run. He eventually lay down on his stomach and was arrested.
He told police he was angry and he was going to jail anyway.
Due to his level of intoxication, he was not interviewed, and eventually fell asleep at the police station.
On the common assault matter, he was convicted and ordered to serve 140 hours of community service.
A charge of excluded person failing to leave premises was dealt with by way of a Section 10A conviction.
