AS part of the Sprung Festival at CSU, all local film-makers are invited to run around town with a camera this weekend in the Transmission 24hr Film Competition.

No real experience is needed, just a camera phone and a team of up to five people.
The top five films will be shown at the Elephant and Castle Hotel at the end of the competition.
It starts on Friday at 3pm.

A creative look at their habitat
FOUR local artists - ceramic artist Emily Laszuk, printmaker Judy Thatcher, Greg Cross, who works in pastel, and Katrina Daly, who works in oil and watercolour - have taken inspiration from the countryside they live in for the Habitat exhibition opening this Friday, September 8 at 6pm at t.arts Gallery in the Bathurst Chase arcade in the CBD.
The exhibition will run to September 23.
Step in the ring at the library
LOCAL author Alexandria Nagy will discuss her debut novel The Could Be Ring this Friday, September 8 at 6pm at Bathurst Library.
The library will open an exhibition of works by Sofala-born World War One satirical cartoonist Hal Eyre on Saturday.
The exhibition runs to September 21.
See the sea at Renzaglia Wines
O’CONNELL locals Lian Wong and Kris Schubert will be at Renzaglia Wines from 2-5pm on Saturday, performing with their four-piece band The Safety Of Life At Sea.
The band has a vintage vibe inspired by blues, soul and funk.
Their album Foxy’s Farm was released in March 2017 and has been receiving airplay around Australia and internationally.
Renzaglia Wines is at 38 Bosworth Falls Road, O'Connell.
The Safety Of Life At Sea can also be seen alongside Smith & Jones on Sunday from 1-4pm at Orange Regional Conservatorium.
Vinyl revival, artist markets
THE Bathurst Record CD and Vintage Fair is on again this Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm at Bathurst Showground.
The Central West Handmade and Artist Markets are back on Saturday from 9am-2pm at Mayfield Garden.
Mayfield will host Cirkus Surreal’s whimsical Mad Hatter on Sunday from 11am-2pm with exclusive access to the garden and a unique performance.
CSU will screen doco Cultivating Murder next Tuesday, September 12 at 6.30pm.
