When the season concluded on August 31, Amanda Turnbull topped both the leading female driver and overall drivers’ state premierships with 187 winners.
She also ranked fourth in the metropolitan drivers’ premiership, sixth in the trainers’ premiership and second in the leading female trainer battle.
Her father Steve was once more crowned NSW’s leading trainer with 172 winners.
It was the fourth time this decade he has won that title, adding to success in 2014-15, 2013-14 and 2013-12.
On top of that, Mat Rue (100 winners) and Mitch Turnbull (64) both placed in the top 10 drivers, with Turnbull also picking up third spot on the concession drivers’ table.
Angela Hedges (38), Emma Turnbull (27) and Ashlee Grives (25) rated amongst the most successful female drivers, while Grives (19) and Wendy Turnbull (24) ranked in the top 10 leading female trainers in the state.
Georges Plains reinsman Bernie Hewitt (69) ranked amongst the leading trainers.
“It just shows what a strong region Bathurst is for harness racing, we are very lucky,” Bathurst Harness Racing Club’s Marianne Donnelly said.
“It was great to see Mat get to 100, it came down to his last two drives for the season, but he got there.
“Mitch has also won our junior driver premiership as well, he has done very well over the last season.”
