NOT content with simply being a sponsor, Westfund Health Insurance will be an active participant in this year’s Bathurst Edgell Jog.

A staff team has been put together, which includes CEO Matt Banning, to compete in the iconic Bathurst event this weekend.

Regional manager Lisa Gibson said 13 staff members across the Lithgow head office and Bathurst branch will be taking part – but at their own pace.

“Our CEO is a runner, so he will be running, and one of our financial executives will be running. Others will be walking,” she said.

Westfund has previously sponsored the Edgell Jog, but this will be the first time staff have formed a team to take part.

“The Edgell Jog is the biggest fun run in country NSW and Westfund are thrilled to be involved,” Mrs Gibson said.

She said supporting healthy initiatives in the local community is a focus for Westfund.

And with less than a week to go until the big day, Mrs Gibson is sending the call out to the community to get involved and take part.

“We encourage the community to register to participate in what will be a fun, family-friendly event for people of all fitness levels.”

And the best news about the jog, which will be held this Sunday?

Organising committee member Jim Hallahan said the forecast for the day is sunny and 17 degrees.
