A 22-YEAR-OLD driver has lost his licence and his ute after being clocked at 100km/h over the speed limit in a Bathurst residential area on Thursday afternoon.

Officers attached to Bathurst Highway Patrol clocked the yellow Holden Commodore utility at 181km/h in the signposted 80km/h residential area on the Mid Western Highway on the western outskirts of Bathurst.
The driver, a 22-year-old Penrith, man was charged with driving at a speed dangerous to the public and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
His licence was suspended on the spot and police seized his vehicle for three months.
The driver will appear before Bathurst Local Court in October.
