Somers’ kicking game – both out of the hand and off the tee – played a pivotal role in the Saints’ 16-12 win over the Orange Hawks.
Her well-placed kick to the right wing set up Jess Scadding’s match-winning try.
Somers was proud of the team’s efforts against the minor premiers.
"It feels pretty amazing. I've only been here for two of the club’s wins but most of the girls have been here for all three, so it's been awesome,” she said.
"To get a win on what will probably be Karah Armstrong's last game is fantastic.
"At 12-6 down we looked a bit down and out but we rallied a bit towards the end like we've done a few times this season. Bronte's intercept try was what lifted the girls to get us home.
"Everyone played well. In patches we weren't so good, but if the girls are all backing up for each other then everyone looks good, and it's great we got the win."
