More than $5500 was raised for Cirkus Surreal to continue funding interstate and international tours, for extraordinary costumes to be created by director Stephanie Brown and for new equipment and other expenses to be covered.
The talented crew wowed the audience with tissue and hoop performances, bending their bodies in ways those watching didn’t know bodies could go.
There was a trapeze, flamingo stilt-walkers and a cube-thrower.
Mayfield kept the guests satisfied with a pop-up food and beverage stall serving produce grown on site, and local wine and beer as well.
The aim of the Cirkus Surreal program is to develop resilience in the students of Kelso High Campus and to provide a framework for the development of life-long learning skills associated with living a healthy and productive life.
The Cirkus Surreal team believe the performers inspired many kids who came to watch the Alice In Wonderland-inspired day.
Cirkus Surreal’s next performance will be at the Darling Harbour International Convention Centre for the Clubs NSW awards evening next month.
Cirkus Surreal will also be at the National Cool Climate Wine and Food Festival at Mayfield in late October performing as roaming entertainment.
