Bathurst, Lithgow, Portland City and Oberon units each received a new vehicle.

Long-time Bathurst rescue officer Sue Dixon said the unit’s new truck will be a huge benefit for volunteers.

Minister for Emergency Services Troy Grant and Bathurst MP Paul Toole were in the city on Friday to hand over the new trucks.

“This is one of the many initiatives the NSW Government is investing in to ensure our NSW SES volunteers have the resources they need to keep communities safe,” Mr Grant said.

Mr Toole said Central West SES volunteer had contributed 116,400 hours of service in the past year alone and it was important they had state-of-the-art equipment.

“Volunteers within the Central West region have responded to over 2300 calls for help during storms, floods and other major weather events,” he said.
