Owners Sam and Illona Coote released a statement on their Facebook page on Monday, announcing their plans to retire.
In the statement, they thanked their loyal customers, saying they have made coming to work at WJ Coote a fun and happy place.
“We have celebrated your engagements, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and ‘just because I love you’. We thank you for letting us be a part of these special moments.”
They said after many successful years, they had decided to retire and will close the doors of WJ Coote and Sons on December 23.
From October 1, the shop will begin its closing down sale.
“Until then it’s business as usual, and we will continue to help you with all your jewellery needs.”
The couple also had a message for past and present team members, thanking them for their friendship and for being such a loyal part of their family.
