The World Of Harps Weekend (September 23-25) will bring in harp players from everywhere for workshops, to make connections and to perform.
Hear them on Sunday from 6pm at Mitchell Conservatorium at The World Of Harps Soiree.
It will include harp and cello duo Kim Deacon and Robyn Godfrey and harpists Verna Lee, Gwenda Davies and Bethany Carter.
Meanwhile, the StringPlay Adult String Orchestra Workshop will also run across the weekend (Friday-Sunday) at The Flannery Centre.
Some big Aussie music names will celebrate one of the biggest at The Jimmy Little Gathering on Saturday, September 23 from 3pm-9.45pm at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
The line-up includes Radical Son, James Henry and Smith and Jones. There will be public workshops, open-mic and storytelling.

Sprung launch
CSU Theatre/Media’s annual Sprung Festival opens tonight at the Ponton Theatre with a special performance by guests Smith and Jones before two weeks of new theatre and performance.
Created by final year students and their teams, the shows will include comedy, physical theatre and drama.
The top short film entries from the Transmission comp two weeks ago will be shown on Friday, September 22 at 5.30pm. Shows will be held nightly from 5.30pm-9.30pm.

Special showcase
THEY’RE closing the shop doors, but you can celebrate the Harmonikos journey with a meal and great entertainment tomorrow night, Thursday, September 21, from 6.30pm at The Carrington Function Centre.
It will feature Harmonikos Jazz, Wing it Jazz, Pengopuss, Luke Melton and Band, and will showcase some of their top students.
Today is also the very final weekly Fun Theatre For The Very Young show for two to six-year-olds (other than a special one-off Sunday show in November). Join the fun from 11.30am-noon at the CWA Hall in Russell Street.

YAMATO – The Drummers of Japan Chousensha will bring heart-thumping rhythm, thunderous sounds and explosive beats to BMEC tomorrow night at 7.30pm.
