The popular elimination ambrose teams competition has its Bathurst Golf Club round this Sunday, with entries closing on midday Saturday.
Whether its players looking for fun or to have a serious crack at progressing to the Regional Final the annual event has always attracted strong fields.
Bathurst Golf Club professional Matt Barrett said there’s still spots open in a field which is quickly reaching capacity.
“We’ve got some great numbers again this year,” he said.
“At the moment there’s about 120 players registered, which is close to capacity. We can probably take 140 max.
“Golf is a very individual sport, and it’s not everyday that people get the chance to play in teams events, so it’s very popular for that reason.
“It also comes at a great time of the year with all the winter sports starting to wrap up. The Holden Scramble can actually be seen as the start of the golfing season.”
The biggest drawcard of the tournament is that players have the opportunity to move on to the Regional Final to play alongside Barrett.
If the Bathurst representatives manage to finish inside the top two at regionals then they will progress to the national final in Queensland, and play alongside a current PGA Australia Tour professional.
Entry cost is $184 per team and can made done by contacting the Bathurst Golf Club on 6331 4144.
The Bathurst round starts from 9am Sunday.
