Keppel Street’s Farmgate will enter is beef burger while the Stocklands chain will enter its pork sausage, with the latter winning a national title earlier this year.
Mr Timms, who is based at Stocklands said the success has come down to the sausages being locally sourced.
“We do all freshly boned pork,” he said.
“It’s locally sourced and includes fresh herbs.”
He said the competition in Tamworth should be quite competitive.
“They’ll be some guys heading to Tamworth, that have done pretty well from the state and regional level,” he said.
“It’ll be a hard competition, considering it’s at the state level.”
In June, Farmgate won both the Central West Traditional Australian Beef and Pork categories at the competition in Orange.
He said the exposure and attention the business has had through competitions has been highly beneficial for the locally owned business.
Other categories that will be judged on on Saturday is poultry, Australian lamb, continental and gourmet and gourmet burger.
