There were two sessions, the first of which started at 12.15pm just after the transporter parade.
And waiting patiently, right at the front of the queue, was Sydney man Thomas Gosewinkel.
Now this man was committed – he'd taken his seat at the gate at 8.45am, which is 3.5 hours before the event even started.
“I got here at 8.45am, that's why I brought the chair,” Mr Gosewinkel said.
“I'm a Ford man and I'm keen to meet Frosty [Mark Winterbottom].”
Footy season comes to an end
RUGBY league and Aussie rules fans were treated to their codes’ respective grand finals on the weekend.
Melbourne Storm argued its case to go down as one of the best teams of all time after a dominant win in the NRL grand final on Sunday.
Storm were in cruise control against the eighth-placed North Queensland Cowboys, who were missing stars Johnathan Thurston and Matt Scott, walking away with a 34-6 win.
Storm fullback Billy Slater picked up the Clive Churchill Medal for best on ground, however many fans have argued that it should have gone to skipper Cameron Smith.
However, Parade believes the man of the match could have gone to a number of other players including Josh Addo-Carr, Dale Finucane or Cooper Cronk.
Elsewhere, on Saturday, it was the underdogs that claimed the victory after Richmond Tigers cruised to a 48-point win over the Adelaide Crows in the AFL grand final.
The Crows scored two goals in the opening minutes of the game, but it was the Tigers who had cemented a nine-point lead at half-time.
Eventually, the Tigers finished as 16-12-108 to 8-12-60 winners.
Dustin Martin became the first player in AFL history to win a premiership, the Brownlow Medal and Norm Smith Medal in one season.
Parade sends his congratulations to both winning teams and is looking forward to another exciting season.
