Recycling company TerraCycle, in partnership with beauty product company Garnier, this week launched a competition that offers schools the chance to win the new playground.
Preschools and primary schools need to send any brand of empty cosmetics, skin care and hair care packaging to TerraCycle to be recycled to be in the running to win.
Sending the products to TerraCycle is free, so schools can participate in the contest at no cost, according to a spokesperson.
To participate in the contest, preschools and primary schools need to register at Garnier.com.au/Playground and then start collecting as many empty beauty products as they can.
Each unit received by TerraCycle between October 9 and December 8, 2017 will count towards the school’s total playground credits, the spokesperson said.
Throughout the competition, schools and members of the local community will be able to cast votes for individual schools to help them gain playground credits.
The winner of the competition will be the school that receives the most playground credits by the end of the contest period.
Garnier is also giving away two runner-up cash prizes to the schools that place second and third in the playground competition.
The winners will be announced on December 13, 2017.
