Pet products company PETstock holds its annual Microchip Blitz in October and is aiming to microchip 10,000 pets this year.
PETstock Bathurst’s microchipping event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22.
Microchipping at the event will cost $10 per pet, when the normal price can be up to $80.
Owners are encouraged to bring in dogs, cats and small animals, but horses, livestock, birds and reptiles will not be eligible.
Owners of pets are encouraged to visit petstock.com.au/assist/the-great-microchip-blitz to book a time slot.
Times will vary from store to store.
PETstock says its inaugural national blitz last year resulted in 8210 animals being microchipped.
The company says the microchips help reunite lost pets with their owners.
