Pole-sitter Wall got away strongly from the start of the 16 lap race to open up a small break.
Andre Heimgartner and Nick McBride contacted each other on Hell Corner as they jostled for second spot but each emerged unscathed.
Little did they know that on the next corner the race was about to spend three and a half laps under safety car conditions.
Max Twigg was searching for a way around the outside of Stephen Grove on turn two but neither were willing to give an inch.
Twigg had nowhere to go as Grove continued to move left, resulting in a heavy collision with the outside wall for both cars.
When the damage was cleared, and the race got back underway on lap five, Wall was under sustained pressure from Alex Davison.
Wall and Davision – who had worked his way up from fourth on the grid – enjoyed a two second break at the halfway mark.
On the eighth lap James Abela lost control on Murrays Corner while looking for a move up the inside of Jordan Love. Both cars rolled down the exit road.
They were able to rejoin the race with no damage but Abela was slapped with a 15 second penalty.
Wall broke away to claim victory while Davision was able to hold off a charging Heimgartner on the final lap.
“I didn’t leave anything on the table today. I’m very happy to come away with the win,” Wall said.
“We had a bit of a gap at the start but unfortunately a couple of the guys came together.
“We lost the gap but we were able to get away with a reasonable restart and maybe have half the gap we had before the safety car.
“Alex was pushing really hard. My car was really good across the top and his was good down the bottom. There was a bit of an elastic band going on but we were both pushing it to the limit.
“I’m very thankful to everyone who worked on the car to enable us to do it.”
