The Raglan Community Music Group is, according to member Vanessa Russell, an “easy-going, flexible, loosely formed group of adults and children from all over Bathurst”.
“Our musical abilities range from beginners to semi-professional,” she said.
“Our term three project was to prepare a variety of musical group performances for the eisteddfod.
“We encountered a couple of confusing situations there, where people assumed we were from Raglan Public School. So, to avoid future problems, we have added the word “Community” to our title.”
The group, which has about 15 members, is free to join, according to Ms Russell.
“We also have two experienced AMEB [Australian Music Examinations Board] syllabus teachers who can provide private tuition for a fee if required,” she said.
The group practises three times a week in Raglan during the school term and asks that members try to attend two of these sessions.
The term four goal is to prepare Christmas week performances for open evenings at St James Church, Christie Street, Raglan; an event at Holy Trinity Church, Kelso; and approximately six aged care visits.
Those who are interested are asked to contact Ms Russell on 0432 371 042.
