Female students from Eglinton Public School participated in the day, with over 50 students involved.
Bathurst basketball coach Paul Masters said it was a great day, encouraging more females to be involved in the sport.
“We had a lot girls involved on the day. We had representatives from NSW Basketball speaking and the girls played a game afterwards,” he said.
“We’re trying to keep girls active and help them stay in basketball.”
The campaign aims to provide a marketing platform to encourage females of all ages to play, referee, coach, officiate and administrate basketball.
As well, the campaign will provide further pathways and assist in the development of female role models.
In more basketball news, junior basketball competitions start this week for ages five to 18-years-old.
“We’re still looking for teams. Primary school children play on Wednesday and high school students play on Friday,” Masters said.
“Teams are mixed.
“We’ve had over 100 teams in the past. At the moment we have about 80. It’s good numbers, considering we’re a country town. We’re probably one the biggest towns for basketball in the Central West.”
