With a bulk of last season’s under 12s outfit having graduated to the under 14s, plenty of new faces have joined the ranks of Bathurst District representatives.
Playing in Orange, Bathurst was sent in to bat after losing the toss and made 7-88.
Rupert Begg made an unbeaten 20, while Rueben Newton (17) and Rhys Bray (14) also reached double figures before they were run out.
In reply Bathurst tried hard with the ball, but Orange reached the required total in the 22nd over with seven wickets still in hand.
Liam Deegan (1-4 off three overs), Blayde Burke (1-8 off three) and Connor Brown (1-5 off one) were Bathurst’s wicket takers while Angus Phillips impressed as well as he conceded just one run from three overs. Bathurst next plays on November 5.
