Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced the funding for the Wattle Flat Heritage Lands Trust ad part of the latest round of the Public Reserves Management Fund (PRMF).
The first grant of $7139 will see amenities at the Solitary Mine site upgraded along with the purchase and installation of stainless steel gutter guard for existing buildings on the reserve.
“I’m pleased to see the volunteers of the Wattle Flat community benefit from this round of funding,” Mr Toole said.
“The time and care they take in providing and maintaining public sites like this is of extreme benefit to our communities.”
And a further $8615 has been granted to utilise the services of a professional weed sprayer to spray around 800 acres of local land.
“This is good news for the community because it doesn’t take long for a variety of weeds to take over vast tracts of land if they are not kept in check,” Mr Toole said.
Mr Toole said $15 million has been allocated to projects across the state in the 2017-18 round of PRMF.
“For the Trusts managing the State’s Crown reserves, the PRMF program provides important financial support needed to maintain these highly valued public assets,” he said.
Over the past six years the PRMF program has provided $94 million for Crown reserve trusts.
