Petra Amanda Mobbs, 40, of Currawong Street, did not appear before magistrate Michael Allen on Monday in Bathurst Local Court and he convicted her in her absence, revoking her bail and issuing a Section 25 warrant.
She was also convicted in her absence of driving while her licence was suspended.
Police facts handed to the court told how Mobbs and a co-accused went to a unit in Perrier Place in Kelso on August 22 with the intention of recovering property belonging to her daughter’s boyfriend.
The co-accused picked Mobbs up and saw that she had in her possession a golf club and steel vacuum cleaner pipe.
As they arrived at Perrier Place, Mobbs armed herself with the golf club, and the co-accused with the vacuum pipe, and they approached the address.
They banged on the door and when they couldn’t get in, the co-accused went in through a rear door and opened the front door for Mobbs, who was still armed with the golf club.
The occupant of the unit was fearful and called triple-0.
Mobbs and the co accused tried to take the victim’s mobile from her and threatened to hit her if she didn’t get off the phone to police.
Police arrived and saw the accused in possession of the golf club.
They spoke to all parties, reviewed CCTV footage and arrested Mobbs and the co-accused.
Mobbs made full admissions to attending the location armed with a golf club, but said it was for her protection.
She also said it was reasonable for the occupants of the location to be fearful or scared. She denied breaking into the unit.
Mr Allen convicted Mobbs on the matter, revoking her bail and issuing a warrant to bring her before the court.
A second charge of driving while a licence was suspended was also dealt with in Mobbs’ absence. The driving matter, which relates to an incident which occurred on June 24 this year, was dealt with ex parte, with Mr Allen convicting Mobbs and fining her $300.
She was also disqualified from driving for three months.
On that occasion, Mobbs was stopped by police for a breath test, and her licence was found to be suspended.
