Award-wining artist Isobel Wilkinson donated the paining which depicts poppies.
Her husband, Peter said he was thoroughly impressed with the treatment his wife received during her stay.
“Bathurst Hospital restored my faith in Australian medicine,” he said. “It’s filled with caring people who went to the limits to help my wife.
“We’ll never forget the kindness showed to us.”
Nurse unit manager Catherine Poschich said the generous gesture was appreciated.
“Staff on the ward provide the highest level of care to patients during their hospitalisation,” she said.
Ms Poschich said it was rewarding to see the difference the care they provide can make in people’s lives.
“We are committed to achieving the best outcomes for people using our service, and support their family and carers during this process,” she said.
Mrs Wilkinson was a top 10 finalist in the Bald Archy Prize for her caricature of Sunrise’s David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
