However, for Qureshi the pressure to replicate that sort of success is outweighed by the pressure of developing Bathurst District’s emerging young talents.
His side for this Sunday’s Presidents Cup clash with Orange includes plenty of talented teenagers, with Luke Powell, Ryan Peacock, Connor Slattery, Nic Broes and Ben Parsons all named.
“We have a big thing on giving the young guys a go and keep trying to produce them. We feel if we can do that, we will be ticking along pretty strong,” Qureshi said.
“It’s not about us older guys, we want to give the younger guys a go and help them develop their cricket. So it’s a good mix there and for me as a captain, I want those young guys to perform as well as they can and play their role.”
One player Qureshi believes has a bright future ahead of him is Nic Broes. He made his maiden first grade century last Saturday and hit 75 against Orange last season.
“He’s a good kid Nic, I think he deserves to keep his spot from last year’s Presidents Cup final when he got 70-odd on debut opening the batting. He’s a good young cricketer,” he said.
"I think he is a special kid, if he keeps going down the path he's going, he's going to be a pretty handy cricketer.”
