Parade remembers sitting through the exams herself, feeling an enormous amount of pressure on her shoulders to do well.
That’s why every year when the exams start Parade can’t help but feel sorry for students who are going through the process.
No matter how many times you hear “It’s not the be all and end all” and other similar sentiments, you don’t truly understand those words until long after the exams are done.
Parade is at that phase in her life now, where high school, university, starting a career and other milestones are far behind her, which is why she feels confident saying this.
So, Parade won’t give any other advice than this: Take these next few weeks one day at a time and work as hard as you feel you have to.
Visit the village for a little art
PARADE is pleased to report that art lovers are in for a treat in the coming weeks with the Millthorpe Garden Ramble.
The works of a variety of artists from the district will be available to see on November 4 and 5.
Artists’ studios and galleries will be open over the weekend, including those of Ada Clark, Sally Gordon, Jenny Beach and Tim Kelly.
The location of artists’ studios and galleries open over the weekend are featured in the official Millthorpe Garden Ramble map, which can be found by visiting www.millthorpevillage.com.au.
A new day, but same great cakes
THE Bathurst branch of the Red Cross will still hold its Big Cake Bake day, but not when originally intended.
Instead of October 27, the Big Cake Bake will be held the following day at the Farmers Markets at Bathurst Showground.
This sweet event is a fundraiser that helps the Red Cross provide assistance to those in need.
The Red Cross encourages people to hold their own events, where everyone can enjoy baked goods and a cuppa while they make a difference.
