The garden is in the middle of its Spring Festival, a time of year where the entire area is available to explore. 

Marketing and events manager Meg McKenna said this festival is one of the few times people can enter the private garden. 

“We open the whole 160 acres of the garden only twice a year, so it is really special and beautiful that people get access to the whole garden,” she said. 

The festival started on October 14, and since that time the garden has been visited by hundreds of people, including some from the Sydney area. 

Ms McKenna said it was definitely a sign that the reputation of Mayfield Garden as a destination was growing outside of the Central West. 

As part of the festival, visitors to the garden can explore the English-inspired maze, see the croquet court, the chapel and the 80-metre cascade with temple.

Visitors can also take a row boat out on Mayfield Lake and take part in the interactive games that are scattered throughout the garden.

Mayfield Garden is open daily from 9am to 4.30pm. 

Once the Spring Festival comes to a close on October 29, the staff will prepare to host a suite of workshops similar to those held over winter this year. 

“They were definitely well received and people wanted to do them, so it has encouraged us to hold them again and keep holding them,” Ms McKenna said.
