While cut-off for entries was on October 19, entries for teams will be extended to Wednesday if there is an uneven amount of teams
Last season, 77 adult teams and 45 junior teams were registered to play in the 2016-17 season and Bathurst Touch president Stuart Graham said registrations have already passed that number.
“We’re looking at around 140 teams. We’ve seen some good growth,” he said.
“There’s not many in the ladies senior competition which is a bit disappointing.
“I would guess we would have about 1100 players but its hard to tell.”
Touch football is sport open to people of all ages and ability.
“We have people in their sixties playing and players down to under eights playing,” Graham said.
“Men and women can play together and it doesn’t matter whether your good or bad. You can play with your family and friends.
“It’s a big social sport.”
Junior boys and girls start at 4.30pm on Monday, followed by the men’s at 6pm and ladies at 6.35pm. Mixed competition starts at 7.10pm.
Wednesday will see men’s compete at 6pm and mix competition play at 6.35pm.
All games are 6-a-side, running for 30 minutes.
Graham said the men’s competition on Wednesday night has historically been the stronger competition.
