Hewitt worked to fix the bad feet of the four-year-old son of Christian Cullen, who has gone on to qualify for the final of Eugowra’s prestigious Canola Cup and take out both a Free For All and Brian Sullivan Memorial in Canberra.
On Wednesday night at the Bathurst Paceway, Hewitt will look to build on that record as he lines up in a 1,730 metres heat of the annual Star Trek Series.
Though Inner Light’s rivals include Bernie Hewitt’s Im With Lexy, who beat him in the Canola Cup decider, and Amanda Turnbull’s talented mare Eliza Dushku, Brad Hewitt’s four-year-old is drawn to lead.
From barrier two he will be able to utilise his good gate speed, while Inner Light has also proven he can produce a second sprint at the death.
Racing starts at 6.33pm.
