Letter to the editor: Support for Jess Jennings’ call to end free grog
I DO not always agree with Jess Jennings but his proposed policy on banning the free alcohol for councillors is a winner (Jess Jennings Calls Last Drinks On Free Alcohol After Meetings, Western Advocate, November 1).

The online poll by the Western Advocate suggests this policy from Cr Jennings is a popular policy (73 per cent supporting an end to free alcohol).
Like Cr Jennings, I have no problem with anyone having a drink or two but not at the expense of the ratepayers.
The money could be put to better use in the community. Better footpaths and CCTV both spring to mind immediately.
All the best to Cr Jennings in receiving support for his very sensible policy.
