The project has been two years in the making for the artist, author and former teacher who says he is excited about the latest venture.
The launch on Saturday, November 18 will be accompanied by a new exhibition.
“The idea [behind the new book] is the balancing act of life, the messiness of life and the idea of balancing,” Mr Mobbs said.
“We’re looking for some kind of hope.”

Mr Mobbs said the fictional work about a man and his young daughter explores a number of themes, including how for some people “life hasn’t turned out the we wanted”.
“The basis of it [the book] is to explore the messiness [of life] in a positive way and not be overwhelmed by it,” Mr Mobbs said.
“How can I make my life better, rather than making other people’s lives miserable.”
Mr Mobbs said there are many gifts in life, but it was all about perspective.
“Divorce is messy, but there’s a gift in it,” he said.
It’s exploring the elements of life that make us happy and crazy.

“It’s exploring the elements of life that make us happy and crazy.”
Mr Mobbs said it had been an addictive process writing another book and he already had plans for a third and fourth work.
Saturday’s accompanying exhibition will be an exploration of the same themes as the book.
The book launch and exhibition is on at Dean Mobbs Gallery, 77 Keppel Street at 5pm. Entry is free.
