THIS weekend it’s the Fords and next weekend a fleet of A9X Toranas will make the pilgrimage to Bathurst.

A9X Torana Club of Australia members will be in town from November 17-19 to celebrating popular make of car’s 40th anniversary during the club’s national event.

The itinerary will include trips to local landmarks.

The A9X was built to win races and certainly achieved just that.

Peter Brock won the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1978 behind the wheel of an A9X Torana and Bob Morris did the same in 1979.

Brock also drove an A9X to victory at Sandown in 1977, 1978 and 1979, and at Bathurst in 1978 and 1979.

The A9X Torana Club of Australia ‘s trip to Bathurst next weekend will come after Ford Coupe Club members make the trip this weekend.
