It’s a case of continuing to lead the way for coffee gurus Fish River Roasters who were awarded the Excellence in Food, Wine or Hospitality Award for the second year running at the 2017 Peak Connect Carillon Business Awards.
After ten years in business Managing Director, Peter Harrison said it was Fish River Roasters ongoing attention to detail and the focus on quality by his team that really drives the business. “Winning a business award is really recognition of the great work done here by our team. I get to tell our story but this award really belongs to the people that work with us,” he said.

The business, which began in 2006 at O’Connell on the Fish River, has continued to grow over the last decade and after moving to Bathurst three years ago has Mr Harrison enthusiastic about the opportunities in the industry. “It’s amazing to see the expansion of coffee, food and wine in the region. It’s an exciting time with new businesses like breweries, distilleries and wineries all doing great things. I think we can achieve a lot by working together to promote the good things going on here,” he said.
It’s not just roasting coffee the team from Fish River are known for. They offer a wide range of products and services including a variety of chocolate, chai and teas as well as barista training. They also provide coffee machines and service them, and have just recently expanded further by exporting their special blends to New York.
