The end of Year 12 and the Higher School Certificate exams is an exciting time – no more books, studying and classes and a long summer of opportunities lay ahead.
Parade has seen quite a few graduation photos from various Bathurst schools and has been witnessing a whole lot of joy from students.
So as the city’s Year 12 students await HSC results and contemplate their future outside high school, Parade would like to wish you all the very best for a bright future ahead.
Rain, rain – great sight for city
HOW nice was it to see so much rain falling recently in Bathurst.
The city has recorded many, many months of below average rainfall so far this year, six consecutive months to be exact.
But, October marked a change for the city, with average rainfall finally received – 59 millimetres in a month with a long-term average of 59.1mm.
And, November’s rain tally is already looking just as good.
As of Sunday 40.6mm has been recorded at Bathurst Airport by the Bureau of Meteorology for a month with a long-term average of 60.7mm.
Feeling festive, you bet we are
WELCOME to that time of year, when the carols are on high rotation, the decorations are out and talk turns to how we’ll fit in all the celebrations to an already packed diary.
Venues are booking out for work Christmas parties, present shopping has begun and even Bathurst Regional Council is on board this year.
During last year’s lead-up to the festive period, council received critisim for its lack of festive cheer, but the powers that be have sure turned things around this year.
Parade is looking forward to the inaugural Christmas Picnic in the Parade on Saturday, December 2.
The family-friendly event is on from 5-9pm in Kings Parade with a host of entertainment for children, music, market and food stalls.
Santa Clause is also planning a visit during the celebration.
