Racing Minister and Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced on Friday that Bathurst had been selected as the head office of the new commission.
He said the city was in a central location that provided good access to the state’s 34 greyhound racing tracks.
Staff to be housed at the Bathurst office will include the commission CEO (yet to be employed) along with administration staff, secretarial support and stewards.
“The staff will be based in Bathurst but they will be mobile, visiting other tracks across the state,” Mr Toole said.
“I’m very pleased the decision has been made that Bathurst should be the location.”
