Students Chloe Braiser and Samantha Windus sent letters to Sydney-based destinations, after Ashleigh Windus, who suffers from Apert syndrom, needed an operation.
The students acquired a holiday for Ashleigh’s family but they thought the holiday would be better suited to raising money.
Holy Family teacher James Farr said he is extremely proud of his students.
“They’re doing something they believe in. It makes their learning real,” he said.
Raffle tickets are still available at the school by calling 6331 3279.
On the same day, the hospital held its annual Radiothon.
Marion Clark’s grandson Christopher undergoes treatment for a rare generic condition at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
“It’s important to find the cause of the problem, to give kids a better life in the future,” she said.
