On this Sunday, the inaugural event will see runners take to the iconic circuit for the hot lap of a lifetime.

Race director Jennifer Arnold said participants will be required to maintain a steady pace to make the finish line in the required 60-minute time limit.

“For runners to finish in one hour, an average pace of 9.4 minutes per kilometre will be required,” she said.

Strict cut-off times will be in operation during the event, at three kilometres (30 minutes, at McPhillamy Park), five kilometres (45 minutes) and the finish (one hour, at 6.2 kilometres).

Ms Arnold said not only was she impressed with how many people had entered for the first-time event, but 60 per cent were from outside the 2795 postcode.

Runners are coming from Queensland, Victoria, the ACT and across NSW.

Online registrations closed on Wednesday evening, however a limited number of late entries will be accepted on Saturday from 7.30am-9.30am at the Bathurst parkrun event at Bicentennial Park, and also from 3-5pm at Harris Park at Mount Panorama.

The event starts at 8am on Sunday.

All proceeds will be donated to Marathon Health.​
