It was taking out by Dubbo’s Brendan Davies, with a huge eight minute win over the Bathurst pair.
Bathurst Cycling Club president Mark Simons said it is fantastic news to have two Bathurst cyclists on the podium.
“I’m absolutely pumped that we got two Bathurst riders on the podium,” he said.
“Jarrod Bell and Daniel Watson are now off to the nationals in Orange.
“It’s really good from a local point of view. They, and the other Bathurst cyclists, have benefited from that level of competition.
“They’ve put in plenty of training.”
Bathurst cyclist Christine Porter claimed victory in the female masters category.
“Masters is one of those areas, that having more women in is a bonus,” Simons said.
“It was male dominated 10 years ago and now the competition is red hot. Masters have a bit more time to train.”
It was the Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club that claimed victory, just under 200 points ahead of Orange Mountain Bike Club.
Orange president Jack Rahilly said was “stoked” with the event.
“The club is really happy with the results,” he said.
“There was plenty of close racing, and there were plenty of spectators out on the course.”
