The ludicrous score at Police Paddock came courtesy of 18 sixes and 11 fours, helping the Tigers chase down Rugby Union’s sizeable target of 244.
The Twenty20 series has often been a casual competition to help players get a quick fix of weekday cricket.
However, on Monday it became a fiery battleground between opposing first grade skippers.
Bulldogs’ Sam Macpherson came up just shy of a century in an explosive innings of his own, paving the way for a daunting Tigers run chase.
Sellers was more than happy to return the aggression Bulldogs displayed in their innings.
ORC caught the Bulldogs’ total with an over to spare
“It’s probably been a couple of years since a score like that,” Sellers said of his time at the crease.
“Monday’s a good bit of fun and we usually give everyone a go at bowling.
“Sam Macpherson was hitting everyone around and he got 90 off us.
“They had no problem hitting it around the ground so we tried to do the same.”
In the Rugby innings Macpherson hit 18 boundaries.
In an especially satisfying period of play for Sellers he and Ricky Webb (44 not out) hit Macpherson for 49 off his two overs.
Sellers was caught with his side still requiring 18 runs to win but Webb was able to finish the job.
