A 61-YEAR-OLD cyclist has died after a collision with a motor vehicle north of Bathurst on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to Sofala Road, Wattle Flat about 4pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a Nissan X-Trail and a bicycle, both travelling south on Sofala Road, collided.
The rider of the bicycle, a 61-year-old local man, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.
The driver of the Nissan, a 40-year-old Metford man, was not injured. He was taken to Bathurst Hospital for mandatory blood and urine analysis.
The bicycle and Nissan will undergo forensic analysis.
